Maidstone Ramblers
welcome all
who enjoy walking in the Kent countryside. Over 200
walks
are organised annually. These include family walks,
half-day walks and more demanding all day walks - in fact something to suit all ages and abilities.
Most take place on Wednesdays and Sundays
often with a choice of two walks on the same day.
Our all-day walks include a lunch stop with a pub nearby.
Evening walks are very popular in the summer months.
Maidstone Group also organises a full
range of other activities including special interest walks, week and
weekend breaks away, indoor social events and walk leader courses.
The protection of footpaths has always been of major importance with
volunteer parish footpath wardens working with county and district
councils in looking after Maidstone's footpath network.

The group is in Kent Area
and is a local group of the
Ramblers which
exists to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment
and discovery that walking outdoors can bring; and to promote
respect for the life of the countryside. The association
encourages walking; protects rights of way; defends the beauty
of the countryside; and has campaigned for many years for
freedom to roam over uncultivated, open country.
